China-Pakistan Intelligent Systems (CPInS) Lab is the cooperation Lab between NUST and Guangzhau Institute of Software Application Technology & China Academic of Sciences (GZISCAS). This is the result of collaborative efforts of NUST School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (SEECS), NUST Chinese Study Center (CSC) and Guangzhau Institute of Software Application Technology (GZISCAS), China.
GZISCAS was founded on May 27th 2011, and it is an independent legal person of institution jointly established by Nansha District and Institute of Software Chinese Academy of Sciences (ISCAS).
Focusing on applied technology research in the field of smart cities, GZISCAS has assembled a high-level scientific research and innovation team comprising of experts with special allowance from the State Council, returned scholars, Guangzhou innovation leaders and Guangzhou Pearl River New Stars. Currently, there are seven research and development departments such as Smart City Engineering Center, Data Intelligence Lab, Digital Forensics Lab, Intelligent IoT Lab, Intelligent Video Lab, and Laboratory of Advanced Software Testing. GZISCAS has established Guangdong Food Supervision Big Data Engineering Technology Research Center, Guangdong Government and Enterprise Mobile Information Security Engineering Technology Research Center, Guangdong Smart Lighting Engineering Technology Research Center, and Guangzhou Key Laboratory of Data Intelligence and Application Technology.
In terms of scientific and technological achievements, GZISCAS has made many achievements in the field of Smart City in recent years, including Smart City Overall Planning Scheme, System for Sharing Government Information and Resources, Market Supervision Information Platform, Traceability System Platform in Food and Medicine, Smart City IoT Big Date Management Cloud Platform, V2X- Cooperative Vehicle Infrastructure System (V2X-CVIS) and so on. In the meantime, GZISCAS has won more than 20 domestic and international awards, such as Barcelona Smart City Award in the innovative Category, the Guangdong Science and Technology Award, the Guangzhou Science and Technology Award, China IoT Key Technology Innovation Award. In addition, it has applied for a total of 217 intellectual property rights, among which 74 patents for invention have been granted, 158 intellectual property rights of various kinds, including 25 invention patents.

Strive to lead the artificial intelligent research between China and Pakistan. Provide out of box solutions through novelty to our national problems, and to nurture young talent to compete globally.
Goals
- To carry out research that can help solve national problems
- To innovate in cutting-edge technologies of Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing.
- To invest in the existing technology and transform them into products and services that would help in socio-economic development of Pakistan.
- To change Pakistani Society to Smart Society through Artifical Intelligence.
Portfolio
Portfolio of the Lab
- 1. Computer vision recognition algorithm platform - PlatformX: its core algorithm is based on visual neural network algorithm, including face recognition, behavior recognition, action and posture recognition, commodity recognition, crop recognition, clothing wearing recognition, object recognition, fireworks recognition, etc. Strengthen the development of key general-purpose Artificial Intelligence technology and platform by combining core algorithm, hardware and edge terminal with cloud platform collaborative optimization technology, support the upgrading of special-purpose artificial Intelligence platform to general-purpose artificial Intelligence platform, realize flexible implantation and iteration of various artificial Intelligence recognition algorithms, and strengthen the landing of special-purpose platform products.
- 2. The open source automatic control system——OpenKai: It mainly provides the algorithm for mechanical automation and intelligence, which is fast and occupies little resources, and can be embedded into the mechanical end. It is used for automatic control of UAV, unmanned equipment, robot arm and so on.g.
- Intelligent video analysis workstation. This server has algorithms for video analysis and right now we are optimizing them on our data.
- Face Recognition and Temperature measurement terminal.
- Gymbot. It is used for physical fitness exercises. We can extend its capabilities to incorporate physiotherapy.

Introduction of Chinees Research
Prof. Wu Jun, the director of Intelligent Video Laboratory, Guangzhou Institute of Software & CAS, and the founder of CAS Cogniser Co. Ltd. He was awarded Special allowances experts of the Chinese State Council in 2018 as one of the youngest experts. He graduated from the University of Tokyo in Japan, major in computer science. He used to work as researcher in INRIA (Institute national de recherche en informatique et en automatique) in France and Waseda University in Japan. He got his master’s degree in Korea with the highest level BK scholarship. During the study as a Doctor in Japan he was responsible for the project between the University of Tokyo and INRIA, which was supported by the government of Japan and France. In 2020, he won the "First Prize in the Electronic Information Group of the Overseas Talent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition", and the "Ching Lan International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition Champion". Since 2016, Dr. Wu Jun was elected as a member of the China Computer Vision Expert Committee and became a member of the National Security Alarm System Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC100/SC2). He has won many honors such as "High-level Special Talent Support Program" and "Hundred Talents Program". He is also very important editor of the "White Paper on Artificial Intelligence Standardization (2021 Edition)".
